“All Creatures, Fins, Fur and Feathers”

All things wild and wooly,

all things with hoofs or fins,

all living things on planet Earth,

are as if our next of kin

From goats to sheep to ostrich,

from turtles to fish to frogs,

heaven forbid we forget the felines,

 the puppies and old dogs

Horses, lamas, deer,  moose and antelope,

 wolf, coyote, raccoon and bear,

 lions, tigers and elephants,

they all need both love and care

Dolphin, manatee and whale,

 pelican, penguin, seagull and osprey,

they’ve been here before we ever were,

way before we came their way

Salmon, trout, sunfish, and guppies,

 swordfish, tuna, halibut, sea bass,

 with catch and then release.

for our children’s children they may yet last

All creatures, fins, fur and feathers,

must have respect to carry on,

more than sad for all life on Earth,

when a species is up and gone . . .
