“Until Springtime’s Song”

Where do the animals all go,

when it’s snowing, blowing and freezing,

the months people have head colds,

 coughing and sneezing

Some birds spread their wings,

 and south bound they soar,

 where the weather is better,

if you live out of doors

Other animals sleep,

 the whole winter long,

 dreaming and snoring,

 until they hear springtime’s song

Some travel by hoof,

 far and away,

 somehow they all seem,

 to have somewhere to stay

Some stick around,

 and play in the snow,

 winter, spring, summer and autumn,

 nature is a great show

But, hard can be winter,

 in real cold climate zones,

pet the cats, feed the birds,

give the dogs all a bone

Winter is needed,

 but when spring comes about,

 there’s miracles of birth,

 and no time to pout

In spring back come the animals,

that were gone since last fall,

 some walk and some fly,

 some hop and some crawl

Hopefully happily,

 we’re all still alive,

through the long cold months of winter,

 God’s creations survive . . .
