“Home Front”

 

Vanilla wafers and raspberries,

 orange juice and conversation,

 the only way to start the morning,

 in a historic destination

 

Age old bricks and weathered timbers,

 flower gardens, wind blown trees,

 the high desert casts its spell,

 when there’s wood smoke on the breeze

 

The cat is fat and happy,

 the dog is tried and true,

 it’s a vanilla wafer morning,

 ready made for me and you

 

God is in His heaven,

 the home front is okay,

 raspberries and orange juice,

 it’s a vanilla wafer day . . .
