“Listen”

 

Teatime with the kittens,

 dunking donuts with the fish,

 bread pudding with the birds,

 it’s morning, make a wish

 

Teddy bears and turtles,

 chickens, chipmunks, and a rabbit,

 a good wish for today is,

 love and peace becomes a habit

 

Christmas time should be,

 the whole year, not just a day,

 what’s a world without love and laughter,

 listen to the children play

 

Pastry with the parakeets and parrots,

 pie and pears with the raccoons,

 if you’re not for love and laughter,

 go and tell it to the moon

 

Munchies with the mice and hamsters,

 upside down cake with the bats,

 salad with the salamanders,

 is there a moose inside my hat

 

Christmas time should be,

 the whole year, not just a day,

 what’s a world without love and laughter,

 listen, to what the children say . . .
