“Creatures”

Three cats, two dogs,

 five chickens and a goose,

 coyotes, grizzly bears,

 deer, elk, and moose

Great Horned owls,

 ravens, and grouse,

 long-eared flying mammals,

 which resemble a mouse

Turtles and frogs,

 blue racer snakes,

 on the list goes,

 for heaven’s sakes

Tiger musky and rainbows,

 great northern pike,

these are but few of the friends,

 which I like

Turkeys and chickens,

 pigeons and doves,

 on goes the list,

 of the creatures I love

Cows, pigs, horses,

  and buffalo too,

 enjoying their company,

 helps me pull through

Kittens and puppies,

 squirrels, chipmunks, and moles,

 when seen on the road,

I say God Bless their souls

Eagles and ostrich,

 falcons and wrens,

 the sight of them sometimes,

 brings childhood again

While the dog that walks with me,

 is my very best friend,

 God’s creatures big and small,

wait just round the bend . . .
