“Around the World, Across the Nation”
All God’s creatures,
furred, feathered and finned,
from the forests to the waters,
or on the wayward wind
Depend on us as guardians,
to keep it all together,
especially in a time of drought,
or really stormy weather
Where snowmelt feeds the mountain streams,
giving birth to alpine lakes,
to fragile Pacific shores, where nature reclaims
with storms and earthquakes
Conservation is an issue,
and a win-win situation,
when pollution and abuse is a concern,
around the world and across the nation
Fragile is the garden,
known as Mother Earth,
the home to countless life forms,
and the origin of their birth
Guardians we are,
for all those still yet to be,
around the world and up in space,
it all depends on you and me . . .
