“Seagulls Quakers And Eagles”
Each bird has its stories,
each one is unique,
wing tip to feathered wing tip,
toes to toes and beak to beak
Penguins can be frosty,
because of ice and snow,
birds in corn fields can be noisy,
because they like to crow
Parrots talk to pirates,
and those who give them crackers,
ducks like dunking donuts,
some people call them quakers
Wood peckers make sawdust,
high up in the trees,
humming birds hum melodies,
hovering like the bumble bees
Cat birds can meow,
but they like bread instead of fish,
parakeets like pretzels,
some give you a salty kiss
Pelicans have pouches,
so they can carry lunch,
most birds like mull berries,
they munch them by the bunch
Seagulls don’t like windshields,
they seem to dislike to see them clean,
they go on bombing raids,
they’re jokes are on the edge of mean
Osterages are out of touch,
when their heads are in the sand,
their wings won’t let them fly,
so they run races on the land
Comorants are clever,
above the ocean or below,
their wings work well in air or water,
what an under water show
Osprey, hawks and, eagles,
show true freedom born of wings,
most people love to see them,
they don’t have to screech or sing
Not to forget the owls,
after all they’re pretty wise,
if they could talk like parrots,
they’d say please don’t pollute the skies
Geese must look down from high above,
and think some people are bird brains,
there’s still way too much pollution, from the cars,
trucks, planes and trains…
