Frogs in the fry pan,

 mice in the stew,

 pigeons in the pizza,

 what is a soul to do

Crickets in the cottage cheese,

 turtles in the sink,

 butterflies in the butter,

 and imagination in my ink

Salamanders in the salad,

 chickens in the pie,

 too darn many pets,

 eating my food, I think I’ll cry

Dogs in the burger,

 kittens in the fish,

 everybody’s happy,

 but I still don’t have a dish

Guppies in the gumbo,

 the ducks are dunking doughnuts,

 a life with lots of pets,

 at times does have its hectic moments . . .
